The New Automatic Steel Cord Sensor System offers high-precision detection of the steel cords within the rubber substrate. This advanced NIRECO Sensor ensures quality by automatically and precisely cutting the gum edge adjacent to the steel cord.

Defects like exposed or missing cords are eliminated. Additionally, the NIRECO trim system allows the manufacturer to recycle the rubber eliminating raw material waste. The heart of the system is a specialized sensor which utilizes magnetic fields to accurately detect within + 0.2mm the position of the steel cord during the calendaring segment of the manufacturing process.

Excellent temperature characteristics, along with calibration functionality are integrated to assure high detection sensitivity under diverse cord/pitch conditions. This technology is unique and owned by NIRECO. The New NIRECO Steel Cord Sensor Models SCS10, SCS100 & SCR100 have been successfully implemented in 10 plants worldwide, including 2 within the United States.
